Stephanie Ertl, DACM, L. Ac., started her journey into natural medicine while attending Pepperdine University, where she earned a degree in Sports Medicine. A dedicated athlete her entire life, she was awarded the title of All-American Division 1 swimmer and diver during her undergraduate years. Throughout her schooling, she became interested in body kinetics and learned how incredible the body is at healing itself through proper care with diet and exercise. As she dove deeper into the study of natural medicine, she discovered her passion for acupuncture. She found it an important modality to assist the body to be its most efficient and balanced self. Further expanding her education, she attended Emperor’s College of Traditional and Oriental Medicine where she interned under a variety of top acupuncture practitioners.
Since her graduation, Stephanie has found her niche in Orthopedic Acupuncture by combining her love for athletics, knowledge of the body, and passion for healing. Her specialties are pain management and injury relief/healing. She has experience in treating a wide range of disorders including digestive, hormonal, skin, hair loss, anxiety, depression, hearing/tinnitus, and the management of cancer treatment symptoms. In addition to traditional acupuncture, Stephanie can provide treatments using Korean style Acupuncture, Cupping, Chinese Massage (Tui Na), and traditional herbal formulas and functional medicine supplements.
To further her studies, Stephanie concentrated on the art of Korean Style Acupuncture and practiced under the remarkable Dr. Jae Hoon Kim. In this style, the focus is not just on the external symptoms, but on the underlying imbalance of the body producing those symptoms. Using a unique pulse reading technique and special set of points on the body, Stephanie is able to put any unbalanced body back into a state of equilibrium and maintain a sense of homeostasis.
Stephanie has also visited cancer clinics around the world ranging from Mexico to Europe. During her experiences, she gained a vast knowledge in the different modalities of integrated cancer treatments. In addition, she attended nutrition and patient psychology classes, as well as experienced chiropractic, reflexology, colon therapy, IV, hyperbaric chamber, and hyperthermia treatments. Because of these experiences, she has an expert understanding of how to care for cancer patients and assist in alleviating their symptoms.
Stephanie is very involved in her community. She is currently a LA county lifeguard on the beaches of Santa Monica, certified Ambulance EMT, and a teacher at Hot 8 Yoga. She is truly dedicated to helping people and serving her community for the better.
